A notice by the China Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that would outline new licensing procedures and measures will go into effect to help regulate cosmetics production. The notice is an attempt to consolidate all powers and responsibilities in the hands of China Food and Drug Administration.
With the notice, the Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection (AQSIS) will no longer be part of the licensing of cosmetics registration and production. Unlike on the old regulatory regime, cosmetics manufacturers should get Cosmetics Production License from AQSIS and Hygiene License for Production Enterprise of Cosmetics from the FDA.
