FDA Extends Public Comment for Draft Guidance on New Dietary Ingredients

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the extension of the public comment for the draft guidance on new dietary ingredients. The draft guidance being commented is Dietary Supplements: New Dietary Ingredient Notifications and Related Issues.”

The draft guidance aims to help industry in evaluating whether to submit a premarket safety notification for a new dietary ingredient (NDI), or for a dietary supplement containing an NDI, and in preparing such premarket safety notifications (also referred to as NDI notifications).

The public comment is extended until December 12, 2016.
