Data Management SPICE (intacs® certified)

Learn how to apply the Data Management SPICE model to improve data quality and data management processes.

This training introduces Data Management SPICE. The training will expand Automotive SPICE® assessors’ knowledge base so they can apply it to projects, products, services and organizations dealing with data. The training is designed for both intacs®-certified assessors of all levels with experience in data management and for anyone looking for details on the model and its interpretation.

The training is a prerequisite to become a Competent- or Principal-level assessor using Data Management SPICE.

The Data Management SPICE model can help organizations:

  • Reduce risks related to bad data, especially in connected vehicles, over-the-air (OTA) updates and connectivity services
  • Track data quality objectives throughout the data life cycle
  • Create an overall data management approach
  • Specify a technical concept for the data management system
  • Consistently monitor data quality, data governance, and the infrastructure in operations

The data management good practices help assessors:

  • Harmonize interpretations of existing SPICE processes related to data management
  • Use a common terminology for assessing data management practices
  • Align ratings among assessors and ensure consistency of ratings

Participants gain first-hand knowledge from experts who were leading model development as part of the intacs® working group.

Constraints: Maximum of 12 participants per training.

Key Takeaways

By the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the structure and intent of Data Management SPICE, including its process categories, base practices, and capability levels.
  • Prepare for process assessments to identify strengths, weaknesses, and capability levels of existing data management activities.
  • Interpret assessment results to derive actionable improvement measures that align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and optimize data management processes covering areas such as data governance, data quality, data flow, and operational data processes.
  • Integrate Data Management SPICE with related frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 330xx, Automotive SPICE®, or IT service management models) to ensure consistency and synergy across organizational processes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in data management by using governance and good data management principles as a foundation for sustainable process evolution and measurable business impact.

This training is designed for professionals responsible for defining, assessing, or improving data management processes within their organizations. It is particularly suited for:

  • Data management and governance leaders seeking to establish a structured and measurable approach to data management.
  • Process and quality managers involved in model-based assessments, process capability evaluations, or SPICE-based process improvement initiatives.
  • Data architects and data engineers who design and maintain data systems, da-ta flows, and integration structures aligned with organizational requirements.
  • Project managers and compliance officers responsible for ensuring that data-related activities meet business objectives, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Consultants and assessors working with data management frameworks or pre-paring organizations for process assessments based on SPICE or related standards.

Prerequisites

Participants should have a basic understanding of data management concepts or process improvement methodologies; prior experience with SPICE or ISO/IEC 330xx frameworks is beneficial but not required.
