A Comprehensive Guide to Fire Sprinkler Testing

Be confident that your fire sprinklers still perform up to code.

The Standard for Inspection and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, NFPA 25, specifies requirements and information related to determining when sprinklers are to be replaced. The authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) should be consulted to determine when sprinklers need to be replaced due to their condition.

For several decades, NFPA 13A and 25 have allowed for testing of long-serving sprinkler samples as an alternative to sprinkler replacement.

Sample sprinkler testing is generally a cost-efficient approach to assess the operating performance of sprinklers installed in field installations.
