UL Continues Global Expansion of Toys Services in Brazil

September 14, 2015

UL Brazil is now a Product Certification Body accredited by CGCRE (Coordenação Geral de Acreditação de Laboratórios). This brings the testing scope to 50 accreditations and the capability to provide certifications services throughout the entire certification process for toys and children’s products, according to local requirements.

A Product Certification Body is responsible for granting the certification of product conformity, in voluntary and compulsory areas, based on national, regional and international technical regulations or standards. The criteria adopted by CGCRE for accreditation of the certification bodies are based on ISO/IEC 17065 and its interpretations by IAF (International Accreditation Forum) and IAAC (InterAmerican Accreditation Cooperation).

Toys and other children’s products intended for the Brazil marketing must comply with local regulations, resolutions and decrees, and tested by a CGCRE accredited laboratory. UL Brazil counts in its global network of facilities, an accredited lab by CGCRE - Accreditation N.0482.
