Lawmakers from Poland are aiming to introduce “Made in Poland” labels for food products in the country. The label shall be given to food that contains at least 75% domestically produced ingredients.
These lawmakers are aiming to establish the label “Produkt polski” and a logo to be designed by the Ministry of Agriculture. The new regulation applies to:
- Meat products from animals that were born, reared and slaughtered in Poland
- Products from animals reared in Poland, such as dairy products and eggs .
- Processed products that are manufactured in Poland
The new law when approved will take effect on January 1, 2018.
