Poland Aims to Introduce Made in Poland Label

Lawmakers from Poland are aiming to introduce “Made in Poland” labels for food products in the country. The label shall be given to food that contains at least 75% domestically produced ingredients.

These lawmakers are aiming to establish the label “Produkt polski” and a logo to be designed by the Ministry of Agriculture. The new regulation applies to:

  • Meat products from animals that were born, reared and slaughtered in Poland
  • Products from animals reared in Poland, such as dairy products and eggs .
  • Processed products that are manufactured in Poland

The new law when approved will take effect on January 1, 2018.
