New Chemical Listing as “Known to Cause Cancer” Under Proposition 65

January 24, 2014

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment of California (OEHHA) is adding emissions from high-temperature unrefined rapeseed oil to the list of chemicals known to cause cancer for purposes of Proposition 65.

The listing has been made on the formal identification by the International Agency for Research on Cancer that this mixture can cause cancer. Criteria used for this is based on the mechanism found in Title 27, Cal. Code of Regs., section 25306.
