The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has released a new version of ISO/TS 22003, which will change certification bodies that serves the food industry and will also help organizations to identify and control food safety standards.
The new version of the standard aims to improve the way certification bodies certify food companies. The new technical specification defines the rules for auditor competencies and audit duration that certification bodies will implement.
The new version of the technical specification also includes a shift from a “qualification-based approach” to a full “competence-based approach” for the definition of auditor competence requirements.
