CANADA - Health Canada has opened a public consultation on the revised labeling standard for acetaminophen.
The revisions on labeling include the establishment of a Product Facts Table to provide safety information in an easy-to-read format and the use of plain language to provide consumers the ability to easily identify products that contain acetaminophen.
The revisions are also intended to communicate clearer warnings with respect to liver damage, including stronger warnings about the use of acetaminophen with alcohol.
The revisions are open for public consultation from September 15, 2015, to November 29, 2015.
