FSA Seeks Comments on the Amendments Made to Food Law Code of Practice Review

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) of England is consulting the public on the release of the proposal to amend the Food Law Code of Practice. The purpose of the amendments is to ensure the effectiveness, consistency and proportionality of the Code Law as periodic revisions are needed to meet this.

The amendments include the following:

  • Revision and clarification of the arrangements for food establishment registration and inspections of mobile food establishments, ships and air-crafts to remove unnecessary regulatory activity
  • Revision of the competency and qualification of the requirements for local authority officers engaged in official controls and other regulatory activities to better target enforcement resources and ensure greater consistency
  • The deadline for the comments is on February 4, 2015
