UL’s full-service independent laboratories with field-testing experts in the U.K., Canada and the United States conduct on-site assessments to determine compliance with Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT), National House Building Council (NHBC), American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and other building requirement standards.
We conduct testing during the construction of on-site mock-ups and at varying stages of installation on the building and after construction. This allows us to evaluate building enclosure product performance and compliance to industry standard requirements and project specifications. We also conduct testing on existing structures to identify the sources of air and water leakage to allow for remediation of any potential issues.
By conducting field tests, stakeholders mitigate risk and reduce unexpected costs associated with potential future performance issues. Field testing is an accurate and reliable tool for establishing trust in a new and existing building envelope system.
