Vietnam Publishes Cosmetic Substances Regulation

June 17, 2016

The Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV) has promulgated 6959/QLD-MP, which regulates the manufacture of cosmetics. Specifically, it regulates the use of these two substances as follows:

  • Mixed methylcholorothiazolinone and methylisothiazolineone (MCT + MIT) at a 3:1 ratio for products (rinse-off) with no more than 0.0015% concentration
  • Mixed methylcholorothiazolinone and methylisothiazolineone (MCT + MIT) at a 3:1 ratio should not be added to cosmetics that already contain methylisothiazolineone

The DAV has given all manufacturers until November 30, 2016 to comply with the new regulations.
