United States Issues Industry Guidance for Conventional Food and Dietary Supplement Nutrition Labels

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued industry guidance entitled Policy on Declaring Small Amounts of Nutrients and Dietary Ingredients on Nutrition Labels; Guidance for Industry; Availability.

The industry guidance explains to manufacturers of conventional foods and dietary supplements the policy on determining the amount to declare on the nutrition label for certain nutrients and dietary ingredients that are present in small amounts.

The guidance was released on July 1, 2016.
