At UL’s Headquarters in Northbrook, IL – students 4th through 8th grades have the opportunity to visit and learn how UL combines science and creativity to provide safety solutions found in homes, schools and communities. This is part of UL’s Safety Smart® Program. Recently the program was expanded to include live demonstrations in UL’s Water Lab. Led by Steve Woynerowski – UL’s Staff Chemist and Lab Manager, students get to see and learn about general chemistry. They also learn about the safety of our drinking water and about the products that come in contact with drinking water. “We are excited to have the opportunity to teach safety science to the kids and keeping it a fun learning experience for them” said Edward Kloss, UL’s Business Segment Manager for Water Systems.
UL’s Water Systems Program Tests and Certifies plumbing products and components including pipes, fixtures, fittings and drains, etc. for use in residences, commercial buildings, municipal infrastructure, etc. For more information on UL’s Water Systems Certification program, contact us at [email protected].
