UL warns of potentially hazardous Halloween decoration with counterfeit UL Mark (Release 12PN-07)

Northbrook, IL, -- March 16, 2012 - UL is notifying consumers, retailers and distributors that the electric lantern kit Halloween decoration identified below bears a counterfeit UL Mark for the United States and may pose a fire and shock hazard.  The product does not comply with UL's safety requirements for the United States and is not eligible to bear the UL Mark.

Name of Product: 5 Electric Luminarias

Hazard: The cord has insufficient insulation posing a risk of fire and shock.
