Turkey Sets Methods of Sampling and Analysis of Contaminants in Foodstuffs

The Turkish government has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of its ‘Turkish Food Codex Communiqué on the Methods of Sampling and Analysis for the Control of the Levels of Trace Elements and Processing Contaminants in Foodstuffs.’

The notified document establishes procedures of sampling and analysis for the official control of the levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, inorganic tin, inorganic arsenic, 3-MCPD and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons ("PAH") listed in the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on contaminants.

Comments may be submitted until January 1, 2017.
