Turkey Bans UV Filter 3-Benzylidene Camphor

The Turkish Drug and Medical Device Institution banned the use of 3-Benzylidene Camphor in cosmetics products. Commonly used in sunscreens, hand and body creams, and anti-aging products, this substance has been found to pose a threat to human health. The ban which took effect on February 18, 2016, follows the European Commission’s (EC) amendment of the Cosmetics Regulation to ban the substance in cosmetic products that became effective in July 2015.   Source
