Turkey has amended its biocidal products Regulation to extend the transitional periods for various product types. The amendments came into force on March 12, 2014.
The Regulation requires manufacturers and importers of the products to notify the Turkish Ministry of Health by a deadline, which has been extended for a range of preservatives. After notification has been confirmed and accepted, companies can apply for product authorizations.
Meanwhile, in-can preservatives used in the cosmetics industry have been included in the list of products that are out of the scope of the Regulation.
