Standards Australia Releases Standard on Child Seats for Cycles

Standards Australia has published ‘AS 4287:2016 Child Use and Care Articles - Child Seats for Cycles - Safety Requirements and Test Methods (EN 14344:2004, MOD).’

The standard, which supersedes the 1995 version, establishes requirements for child seats for cycles, intended to be mounted on pedal cycles and electrically power assisted bicycles. This applies to cycles that transport children with a weight from 9 kg up to 22 kg (approximately 9 months to 5 years old) and who are capable of sitting unaided.

It was released on September 14, 2016.
