South Africa Releases Regulation on Miscellaneous Additives in Foodstuffs

The South African government has officially published ‘Regulations relating to Miscellaneous Additives in Foodstuffs.’

The regulations cover the following:

  • Definitions of:
    • food additive
    • Good manufacturing practice
    • Maximum use level
    • Miscellaneous additives
  • Requirements for use of miscellaneous additives in foodstuffs
  • Repealed documents

Published on November 17, 2016, it will take effect exactly a year after.
