New DNA Technology Developed to Identify Textile Materials

January 24, 2014

A new proprietary technology called SigNature T has been announced by the Applied DNA Sciences that can identify textile materials. This technology is a DNA-based security platform specifically for textile and apparel that could identify textile raw materials as well as finished products.

The technology uses new binding and extraction techniques that will enable a more flexible and robust anti-counterfeiting and anti-diversion protection for textiles and apparel that includes military protective wear.

The SigNature T will help to gain the upper hand with a flexible, forensic, impenetrable product authentication tool that will protect textiles throughout the product’s manufacturing process.
