MIT Revokes Requirements for Azo Dyes and Formaldehyde on Textiles

Landing Copy: The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) of Vietnam revoked the requirements for azo dyes and formaldehyde on textiles through the release of Circular No. 23/2016/TT-BCT on October 12, 2016.

The Circular revokes Circular No. 37/2015/TT-BCT. Circular No. 37/2015/TT-BCT established the content limits and testing procedures for the formaldehyde and banned cleavable aromatic amines from azo dyes in textile products.

The revocation became effective on November 26, 2016.
