Korea Sets Safety Criteria for Strollers

The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) has set the safety criteria for strollers under the Proposed Safety Criteria for a Consumer Product Subject to Self-Regulatory Safety Confirmation.

The safety criteria set on the regulation will have an additional safety requirements for strollers attached to car seat and box hammock strollers and delete unnecessary test items.

Under the proposed criteria, manufacturers or importers are required to confirm safety by reporting to the safety certification body with attachment of test and inspection body certificates from testing laboratories and inspection bodies designated by models of the products prior to delivery of goods to the market.

The proposed date of adoption and of this regulation will be on August 2014 or later.
