Korea Establishes GMP for Cosmetics

The Republic of Korea has proposed amendments to the "Enforcement Rules of the Cosmetic Act" to support companies compliant with 'Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)', with the purpose of improving quality control and production capacity of domestic cosmetics manufacturers. Steps to improve domestic cosmetics manufacturers’ quality control and technical skills include training courses, and consultation course expenses.

The regulation also added "face painting" to "color cosmetics" and proposed amending “Body painting" for "Body painting, face painting".

The final date for comments is 60 days from the date of notification, September 2, 2014.
