INTERNATIONAL - The International Standards Organization (ISO) intends to revise ISO 8124-6:2014 Safety of toys -- Part 6: Certain phthalate esters in toys and children's products through the approval of a new project standard.
The revision can be accessed through ISO/NP 8124-6 Safety of toys -- Part 6: Certain phthalate esters in toys and children's products. ISO 8124-6:2014 provides a method for the determination of di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), bis-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP), di-iso-nonyl phthalate (DINP), and di-iso-decyl phthalate (DIDP) (see Annex A) in toys and children's products.
This standard applies to toys and children's products which are made of plastics, textiles, and coatings.
ISO/NP 8124-6 was approved as new project standard on October 16, 2015. The revised standard is being developed by ISO/TC 181 Safety of toys.
