INMETRO Consults on Filming Requirement for Toy Testing Certification Process

October 16, 2015

BRAZIL - The Brazilian National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) is seeking comments on its proposed change to the procedures for the certification of toys, which would require laboratories to film the toy testing.

This is intended to improve the traceability of conformity certificates issued for toys and tests leading to the certification compliance and to improve competition among conformity assessment bodies.

In addition to the testing reports, the film footage would also:

  • Be unedited
  • Be uncut
  • Be capable of full-screen view
  • Be stored on file for a minimum of five years
  • Have clear identification of test samples

The consultation period is through November 3, 2015. Comments may be emailed to mailto:[email protected].
