CPSC Urges Consumers to Schedule a Safety Check-Up on Products in Their Homes
Do you, as a manufacturer or a retailer of furniture, feel comfortable about the safety of the products you sell?
The pandemic and, in many locations, summer weather have accelerated the use of outdoor environment as a new place for families, employees and communities carry out their daily routines. But extended use of outdoor furniture can increase the risks of injuries. UL’s rigorous outdoor furniture safety testing program, UL 4041 is out for review with the industry as part of the process of becoming a published standard.
Data to help prevent injuries and product recalls
Having the data that could prevent injuries and recalls before they happen can save a furniture company’s long-term profits and reputation. Good test equipment is critical for getting the most data for your money. Knowing that your product met the test requirements is good, but knowing how the test affected the product is critical. Having test equipment that collects data as it performs the test will do just that. If you have the right test equipment your product can almost talk to you, it can tell you how well it is doing, how it will do in the future and what you should be concerned with now.
