Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has released ‘Direction under Section 16 (5) of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 regarding Operationalization of Food Safety and Standards (Food Import) Regulations, 2016.’
The regulation stipulates the authorization to use ethylene gas at a concentration up to 100 ppm (100µl/L) in artificially ripening fruits.
The notification was released on September 2, 2016.
