Four Countries Update Technical Regulation on the Labeling of Textile Products

The Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade of Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, and Costa Rica have updated the Central American Technical Regulation (RTCA) No. 59.01.08:12 on the labeling of textile products.

These are the major points of the regulation:

  • Electric blankets and leather goods are exempt from this Regulation
  • The labelling of used clothing must be in accordance with the domestic law of each State Party
  • Textiles and textile products that are cut to measure or produced at the request of the consumer are exempt from this Regulation
