FDA to Issue Final Preventative Control Rules for Animal and People Food

UNITED STATES - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has submitted final preventative control rules for animal and people food to the Federal Register for publication as required under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

FSMA requires food manufacturers to implement preventative controls to minimize the risk of contaminating food when it’s manufactured, processed, packed or held by a facility.

The Federal Register has until October 31, 2015 to publish the final rules.
