European Union Releases Standard on Sensory Analysis for Food Products

The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) has released EN ISO 13299:2016 Sensory Analysis - Methodology - General Guidance for Establishing a Sensory Profile (ISO 13299:2016), which is in accordance with a standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The standard provides guidelines for the establishment of a sensory profile, evaluated through the senses of sight, odor, taste, touch, or hearing.

Ratified: January 2, 2016

Available: April 6, 2016

Announced: July 31, 2016

The standard will take effect on October 31, 2016.
