The European Commission (EC) has issued Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/479 Amending Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the Use of Steviol Glycosides (E 960) as a Sweetener in Certain Energy-Reduced or with No Added Sugars Beverages.
The authorization covers the following beverages and maximum levels of E 960:
Coffee, tea and herbal infusion beverages (30 mg/l)
Flavored instant coffee and instant cappuccino products (30 mg/l)
Malt-based and chocolate/cappuccino flavored drinks (20 mg/l)
The amended regulation became effective on April 24, 2016.
