ECHA Updates its Risk Management Option Analysis Tool

EUROPEAN UNION  ̶  The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has announced the update of its Public Activities Coordination Tool (PACT) for risk management option analysis (RMOA) or hazard assessment by adding 14 substances. The tool covers substances that have been or are undergoing assessment for their PBT/vPvB (persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic/very persistent and very bioaccumulative) or endocrine disruptor properties. The following list of substances were added to the list:

  • A mixture of: O,O-di(1-methylethyl)trithio-bis-thioformate,O,O-di(1-methylethyl)tetrathio-bis-thioformate,O,O-di(1-methylethyl)pentathio-bis-thioformate
  • Dicyclohexyl phthalate
  • Formaldehyde
  • (-)-pin-2(10)-ene
  • (ethoxymethoxy)cyclododecane
  • 1,2-dibromoethane
  • 4-tert-butylphenol
  • decamethylcyclopentasiloxane
  • nickel sulphide
  • Nitrobenzene
  • octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane
  • p-(1,1-dimethylpropyl)phenol
  • phenol, heptyl derivatives
  • trinickel disulfide

With the addition of these chemicals to the list, the number of PACT RMOA hazard assessment substances has risen to 295.
