CPSC Issues Final Ruling for Soft Infant and Toddler Carriers

April 22, 2014

In accordance with the Danny Keysar Child Product Safety Notification Act, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a final ruling, implementing safety standards for soft infant and toddler carriers.

The ruling states that durable infant and toddler standards must be “substantially the same as” applicable voluntary standards or more stringent than the voluntary standard if the Commission concludes that more stringent requirements would further reduce the risk of injury associated with the product.

The effective date of the ruling is September 29, 2014 and applies to product manufactured or imported on or after that date.
