CPSC Consults on the Notice Released for Carpets and Rugs

UNITED STATES  ̶  The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has opened the Proposed Extension of Approval of Information Collection; Comment Request—Testing and Recordkeeping Requirements for Carpets and Rugs, for public comment for the following standards:

Standard for the Surface Flammability of Carpets and Rugs (16 CFR part 1630)

Standard for the Surface Flammability of Small Carpets and Rugs (16 CFR part 1631)

The standards define the requirements for testing and recordkeeping by manufacturers and importers who furnish guaranties based on the carpet flammability standards.

The public consultation for the notice is open until September 28, 2015.
