AU/NZ GEMS Update - External Power Supplies Determination – Consultation on proposed changes to allow for Mark VI efficiency level

September 18, 2014

The Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (External Power Supplies) Determination 2012 currently permits External Power Supply (EPS) products to be marked only at level III, IV and V efficiency levels. (As stated in AS/NZS 4665.2:2005)

The US Department of Energy recently released Version 3.0 of the International Efficiency Marking Protocol (IEMP) for external power supplies, which set the performance requirements for an EPS to be marked at a new efficiency level of ‘VI’. Due to this, the Energy Rating Team is proposing to revise the current EPS Determination to reflect these international changes.

They welcome EPS stakeholder feedback to this consultation process on or before Friday, September 26, 2014.
