ASTM Releases Standards for Evaluation of Laundry Sanitizers and Disinfectants

The ASTM International has released new standards for the evaluation of laundry sanitizers and disinfectants:

STANDARD DESCRIPTION
ASTM E2406-16 Standard Test Method for Evaluation of Laundry Sanitizers and Disinfectants for Use in High Efficiency Washing Operations Specifies the test method to evaluate the effectiveness of a test reagent (antimicrobial agent/active ingredient) or formulation to reduce or completely kill bacterial populations on contaminated fabrics and in wash water following a single wash under simulated low wash volume conditions.
ASTM E2274-16 Standard Test Method for Evaluation of Laundry Sanitizers and Disinfectants Provides test methods to evaluate the activity of a test reagent (antimicrobial agent/active ingredient) or formulation in the reduction or complete kill of the bacterial population in fabric and wash water following a single wash.

 
The standards were released on May 26, 2016.
