On Nov. 10, 2020, the Productive Development Ministry published Disposition 1/2020 establishing the final enforcement dates and stages for the energy efficiency dishwasher’s mandatory certification as follows:
Stage 1 – Starting on Feb. 11, 2021, a letter attesting the initiation of the certification process will be required in order to import and sell dishwashers in Argentina. This letter must be issued by an accredited local certification body.
Stage 2 – Starting on Nov. 13, 2021, an Energy Efficiency Certificate of Compliance will be required in order to import and sell dishwashers in Argentina.
Scope: Domestic dishwashers that polish and dry dishes, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen utensils, by chemical, mechanical, thermal and electrical means, which have been designed to be used primarily for non-professional purposes.
Standards: For energy efficiency IRAM 2294-3 and IEC 60436:2015 ed 4.0. for water consumption per cycle.
Testing: at local recognized third-party laboratories. Family of Product concept is not applicable. Certification shall be per model.
Certification scheme: Scheme 5
Surveillance: Annual factory inspection and annual full testing locally of one model out of three certified models.
