As global supply chains become more complex, getting to market quickly can be challenging. UL wants to help. In collaboration with key industry stakeholders, UL has helped to publish UL 61800-5-1, the Standard on for Safety for Adjustable Speed Electrical Power Drive Systems, to replace UL 508C, Standard for Power Conversion Equipment that was withdrawn on Feb 1, 2020. UL 61800-5-1 aligns most U.S. requirements with the international IEC 61800-5-1 standard, which will allow UL to offer a single investigation that provides certification to UL 61800-5-1, CSA C22.2 No. 274 and a CB certificate or test report to IEC 61800-5-1.
With combined testing of drives, we can speed up your time to global markets such as the U.S., Canada, European Union, China and Brazil with one investigation through a single trusted certification body. Additionally, you can differentiate your brand and strengthen your product preference in the marketplace with a trusted independent third party.
