The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has opened public consultation for its draft regulation impact statement (RIS) regarding its options to limit consumer exposure to hazardous azo dyes in certain clothing, textiles and leather goods. The RIS addresses the following:
- the problem the commission is solving;
- the reason for government intervention;
- the available options for limiting consumer exposure to hazardous azo dyes; and
- the benefits and costs of each option
Deadline for submission of comments has been set for April 10, 2015.
