Our laboratories in Suzhou, China, and Milan, Italy, have both successfully become approved laboratories by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) for the new energy efficiency standard for street lighting SASO 2927/2019.

UL’s Suzhou facility is approved for all three parts of energy efficiency standards for lighting products in Saudi Arabia while our Milan laboratory is approved for SASO 2902 Part 2 and SASO 2927 Part 3.

Published on June 23, 2015, the Saudi Standard SASO 2870/2015 came into force on May 1, 2016. The standard covers the energy efficiency, functionality and labelling requirements for indirect and direct general light sources with a luminous flux above 60 lumens and below 12000 lumens. Part 3, SASO 2927/2019, became mandatory on September 1, 2020.
