UL’s Omerovic Appointed ExNBG Chair

UL’s Jasmin Omerovic was recently elected as ExNBG chair for a two year term

The ExNBG (ATEX Directive Notified Body Group) elected Jasmin Omerovic, Conformity Assessment Program Principal at UL, as ExNBG chair for a two-year term of office as of  Feb. 3, 2021.

Omerovic has been an active contributor to the field of global conformity assessment related to the development and operation of market-relevant conformity assessment schemes since March 2002.

The ExNBG coordinates and discusses various matters relating to conformity assessment to help ensure a uniform application of the provisions of the ATEX Directive. The ExNBG has more than 70 members covering organizations from many EU/European Economic Area member states.

The ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU covers equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The directive defines the essential health and safety requirements, conformity assessment procedures and facilitates the free circulation of electrical and non-electrical products placed in the marketplace in Europe.

Throughout his career, Omerovic has focused on policy, scheme management and business and technical development related to global and regional conformity assessment.
