The Thai Thailand Industrial Standard (TISI) has announced that manufacturers and/or importers of TISI certified products will have to add electronic labeling, i.e., a QR code, along with the TISI certification mark.

The intent is to combat fake certifications and counterfeit products as well as enable consumers to easily check if the product has been certified and to have access to certification-related information. It is anticipated that TISI will create an online database as well as a way for manufacturers to apply for a unique link/code.

The new change will be implemented as of Jan. 21, 2021.

Note: The Royal Gazette announced a revision on the implementation of this was announced on Jan. 19, 2021.
