The European Commission (EC) has adopted two implementing decisions, amending Decision 2008/911/EC and establishing a list of herbal substances, preparations and combinations for use in traditional herbal medicinal products.
Commission Implementing Decision 2016/1658
- Changes to the list entry include the name of the herbal substance Eleutherococcus senticosus (Rupr. et Maxim) Maxim in certain EU official languages, the phrasing of the herbal preparations, an update of the reference to the European Pharmacopoeia and an update of some information necessary for the safe use.
Commission Implementing Decision 2016/16589
- It adds Melaleuca alternifolia (Maiden and Betch) Cheel, M. linariifolia Smith, M. dissitiflora F. Mueller and other species of Melaleuca, aetheroleum to the list of herbal substances, preparations and combinations for use in traditional herbal medicinal products.
The decisions were adopted on September 13, 2016.
