New Near Field Communication (NFC) applications are quickly being developed around the world. As the number of available NFC applications increases, so does the chance of coexistence problems.

Coexistence problems can be defined as when the behavior of one NFC service negatively impacts another Service Provider’s NFC service. This whitepaper breaks down the NFC domain into three environments in which these problems can occur: the technology environment, the device environment and the interoperability environment.

It addresses the challenges that can occur in each of these environments. It also provides measures for potentially mitigating these challenges, including strategies to deal with issues that arrive from multiple cards issued on the same device.
