We provide services for single- and multipole connectors intended for factory assembly to copper conductors or printed wiring boards within and between electrical equipment. These connectors may employ crimp terminals, solder terminals, quick-connect terminals, insulation displacement or insulation-piercing terminals, pressure terminal connectors, wire-binding screws or other terminals that are intended for factory wiring.

We evaluate quick-connect terminals, both connectors and tabs connectors, to the following standards for compliance and safety:

• Canada – CSA C22.2 No. 153-14

IEC 60947-7 Series applies to ancillary equipment for low-voltage switchgear and control gear — terminal blocks (for copper conductors) with rated voltage not exceeding 1,000 Vac up to 1,000 Hz or 1,500 Vdc and for connection of round copper conductors, having a cross-section between 0.2 mm2 and 300 mm2 (AWG 24/600 kcmil).

We provide testing and certification services for:

• Assemblies of wiring terminals and supporting blocks intended to provide a means for the connection of wiring. These terminal blocks may employ terminal connectors, wire-binding screws, quick-connect terminals and similar friction fit terminals, which are intended for factory-wiring and/or field-wiring connections.
• Protective conductor terminal blocks (PCTB) intended for connecting protective earthing (grounding) conductors to supports, such as mounting rails and the like.
• Fuse terminal blocks that have a fuse carrier and are intended to accept supplemental fuses — miscellaneous, miniature and micro. Fuse terminal blocks provide supplemental protection in end-use equipment to provide protection for components or internal circuits.

Cable assemblies refer to a length of cord or cable with a male cable fitting as a line fitting and a female cable fitting as a loading that are intended for interconnection of equipment, sensors and actuators in remote-control, signaling and power-limited circuits. These may or may not be connected to the branch circuit.

We evaluate cable assemblies to the following standards for compliance and safety:

• UL 1682, UL 2238, UL 2237
• Canada CSA C22.2 No. 182.1, CSA C22.2 No. 182.3
• IEC 60309 (informative test report only)
