UL Solutions can provide safety, performance and interoperability testing and certification for global electric vehicle supply equipment. These services are intended to address requirements for DC fast chargers, bidirectional chargers, charging cables and grid integration.

When EV batteries reach 70%-80% capacity, they may be repurposed as stationary energy storage systems or grid-connected power sources. UL Solutions certifies repurposing facilities to UL 1974, the Standard for Evaluation for Repurposing or Remanufacturing Batteries, by auditing sorting, grading, safety evaluation and quality control processes. This helps support battery safety in second-life use.
