The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a Final Rule to provide extension and clarification of compliance dates of certain provisions in four foundational rules that are part of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA; Pub. L. 111-353).
The four rules are as follows:
- Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food
- Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Food for Animals
- Foreign Supplier Verification Programs for Importers of Food for Humans and Animals
- Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing, and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption
This final rule became effective on August 24, 2016.
