UL warns of counterfeit UL Mark on electrical outlet boxes (Release 12PN-06 REVISED)

Northbrook, IL - February 28, 2012 - UL is notifying AHJ's, electrical contractors, electricians, consumers and retailers that the electrical outlet boxes identified below,  stamped with the name Garvin Industries, bear a counterfeit UL Mark for the United States. These outlet boxes have not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate Standards for Safety and it is unknown if the boxes comply with UL's safety requirements.

Name on Product:   Garvin Industries Metallic Outlet Box Cat. Nos. 52151-3/4VT,
72171-3/4VT and TB-135G

On the Product: The following information and markings appear stamped into the steel on the products with a counterfeit UL Mark:
