NORTHBROOK, Ill. — Feb. 16, 2026 — UL Solutions (NYSE: ULS), a global leader in applied safety science, has issued a public safety notice regarding chainsaw chaps sold under the GDLIN and Proyama brands, which bear unauthorized UL certification marks and may pose safety risks.
The affected models include GDLIN model 0000730 and Proyama model VJ-SJFIO-NC. Both models falsely claim compliance with ASTM standards and display an unauthorized cULus Classified Mark on the pocket. These products have not been evaluated by UL Solutions to the appropriate safety standards. UL Solutions advises consumers to immediately remove these products from service, as their compliance with safety standards is unknown.
The unauthorized chainsaw chaps falsely display UL file number SA32851, which is registered to Ahlborn Equipment Inc. of Sayner, Wisconsin. However, UL Solutions confirmed that Ahlborn did not manufacture these products.
Consumers can identify the unauthorized chainsaw chaps by examining the product labels:
- Font Style: Genuine Ahlborn chaps feature “CLASS B” in bold type, while the counterfeit versions use non-bolded text.
- Stitching: Authentic labels have stitching that closely follows the black box that outlines the label information. The unauthorized versions are stitched along the outer perimeter of the label.
The counterfeit chaps were distributed globally via popular e-commerce platforms, including Amazon and Walmart, and potentially others.
